Peter Wells is an experienced and Commercially Endorsed Yachtmaster instructor, who has been involved with sailing activities for most of his life.
Peter has been sailing and involved with the sea nearly all his life and was rescued by the Selsea lifeboat from his parent’s yacht as a mere 18 month old baby. Despite this somewhat shaky start, his schooldays revolved around ‘messing about in boats’. He went on to serve in the Royal Navy as a marine engineer for 24 years, during which time he sailed several forces yachts and qualified as a Yacht Master. He bought his own yacht in 1991 and has been an active member of the Emsworth Slipper Sailing Club for over
20 years.
Peter took over Heave2 in 2010 and has been successfully running RYA courses and skippered charters in and around the Solent since then. This combination of experience and training ensures a laid-back and enjoyable time aboard Darwin Star.

Practical Coastal and Yachtmaster prep incur additional examination fees of up to £170.00 made payable to the RYA should the exam be required and a nominal fee of £100.00 to Heave 2 to use the yacht for the exam.
